Sify says "Molly Aunty Rocks is a gripping and engaging tale of a woman, who is well aware about what she wants from life. She is egoistic but her thoughts are noble". Sify gives the verdict "Go for it. Good". Veeyen on Now Running.com rates it 3/5 and says "Ranjith Sankar's 'Molly Aunty Rocks' bristles with splendid ideas and perspectives on the world in which we live in. Change, and the dire need for it, as in the director's previous films, is the necessitated issue at hand, and filled with exceptional performances from the leading cast, marvelous wit and loads of positivism, 'MAR' is one of the warmest movies to have hit the screens this year. Molly Aunty, without doubt rocks, and so does her director who has crafted this knockout of a film!". India Glitz calls it 'A Very Special Molly Aunty' and rates it 7/10. In the review it says, "This Molly Aunty Rocks can be a definite prescription for family viewers. Without a single double entries or fowl mouthed wits or sequences, you are sure to enjoy a clean movie that is made with noble intentions". Paresh C Palicha on Rediff.com rates it 3/5 and says 'Molly Aunty really Rocks'. He says in his review "Hats off to writer-director Ranjit Sankar who has made a superhero out of Revathy. She hogs the limelight here in a way she has not done in the prime of her career.Revathy plays the part with dignity and grace. She remains likeable throughout because of the control she keeps and the special effort that the director has made to keep her a genuine person and not make her an oddity.Director Ranjit Sankar and Revathy make Molly Aunty rock." Theater balcony came up with a positive review by giving 78%, and also praised the performances and direction

--------------------------------
I watched Molly Aunty earlier today. Even though I liked your previous two films, I have to admit that I have never been so blown over by the direction of one Malayalam film in recent times as I was with Molly Aunty.. Its not because of the story or the characters but the sheer level of attention to detail that is evident in the film. I am a sucker for subtleties and nuances and I was so delighted to see a Malayali film director taking care of such details..Its the way your characters dress, talk, gesture and go about with their lives that is so interesting..There is not an iota of artificiality in any scene..Some directors never get any of them right, some get some of them right, but boy..you were bang on in every detail.. Some of the examples that stand out are Revaths and the other lady's morning jog, interactions in the supermarket, postman etc.. I could go on and frankly I lost count..It is evident that you put a lot of effort into each frame..Great job. Now, you might wonder why I am messaging you. Honestly speaking, here is my reason..I am a huge movie buff (of all languages and genres) and I believe even though I dont have any formal training (like you :)), I have a sense for what makes a movie stand out from the rest..And all the tihngs I mentioned above, are never really noticed in the malaylam films of these days,.. and even if they are, those directors are rarely appreciated. Even though a congrats from me wont make much sense to you atleast I felt being the avid film fan I am, I should send you a personal note.. AWESOME job..Keep up the good work and continue making films like these..No one can guarantee if they will succeed but you will be acquiring lifelong fans for sure..(you just set the bar for you higher)

watched Molly Aunty Rockss just nw. i must say i shud have watched it in theatre. outstanding performance by Revathy. nalla oru kadha.. athu nannayi cheythu, nalla msg, nalla cinematography, ottum lagging illatha avatharanam. ellam kondum nalla oru film.. hats off to u nd ur team members. kurachu samayam maathrame ullu enkilum, actually Mammukkoya rocks in ths movie.. i realy liked his role. he is the real key in ths movie.. raju, lalu, krishna kumar, lalitha chechi did well in their roles as always. yes, and the other catching one was sarath. nannayitund pulliyude father role..! ellam kondum nalla oru film. a must watch movie for all.

Saw Molly aunty. Nice and pleasant one from Ranjith Sankar. Generally good performances from all, esp mamukoya. Nice seeing him in a good role. Revathy is apt; Sharath is kool as palliyil achan. Pritvi's thaadi looks forced and fake. Tennis scenes could have been improved a bit. The scenes I liked the most: achan running for water when kpac had a heart attack and the way revathy handled an appachan with a cool handshake. Quite different from passenger and as.

watchd mar ..was a nice movie..thought provoking..sometimes molly aunty did wt i really wanted to do and couldnt do because of a feeling of insecurity in our society n public..proud to b a neighbour of yours...congrats

I'd a girlfriend jus like Molly aunty. I was touched by d film since Molly aunty reminded me of her. She is a ardent communist and of course d daughter of a commuinist party office bearer (SUCI). Jus like Prithvi in the movie in begining I jus hated her attitude and fought and argued wiz her on every occassion possbile nt realising that der wer strong reasons behind her stands wbich appeard to be adamnt. We became friends after a series of fights. Once i realised her social committment and her activities i became a fan of her. We fell in love. Soon i realised i am too indecisive and may nt be so bighearted in future since she wanted to continue her social activites after post married life and even adopt a baby girl. We decided to end the courtship and continue as good friends. D character played by Lalu Alex deserves specl mention since he is ready to sacrifice everything for keeping molly happy. He is ready to even change the religion. U cant find these types very often. I wish if i wer like Lau alex who took a bold decision to support his lady love. I'd have ended up leading a more worthier life serving the society. This film will remain close to my heart for many personal aspects.. Cudos to you..

Aswin J Kumar of The Times of India was also not impressed with the film and gave it a rating of 2/5.

Sify.com updated the Box Office status of Molly Aunty Rocks as 'Molly Aunty is a Winner at BO'. It says in the article "Director Ranjith Sankar's Molly Aunty Rocks has gained the maximum response from the viewers, among the four Malayalam releases of last weekend. "The collections were average for the first two shows on Friday and things started looking better from the evening shows. Sunday was really great and things are looking absolutely bright right now," says Ranjith Sankar.

Anand Hrishikesh on Flixmirror rates it 2.5/5 commenting "It seems the recent trend is in showcasing social issues and Malayalam film sticks to the same old routines that if one film on a particular subject becomes a hit follow the pattern and create similar films. Overall Ranjith Shankar's Molly Aunty fails to rock in the hearts of a viewer and does not leave a long lasting impression once you are out of the cinema hall."
